Valuation Announces that its newest initiator, Teego – the stylish man of action – has officially joined the client roster. Hailing from Colombia, Tejo will undoubtedly revolutionize gameplay with his unique combo that dispatches enemies using a top-down approach. Tejo requires you to analyze the situation mid-round and use abilities to help clear the way for your team strategically. Based on the enemy’s playstyle, where are they likely to be located? Can you use their position to your advantage and put them in a vulnerable position?
“We had the opportunity to play where we wanted to have a starter that would think about the map a little differently — from top to bottom instead of taking corners one by one. We wanted to try to add some abilities with outputs like cleanup that were really interesting to create these power windows,” noted Ryan “Rycou” Cousart, game designer at Tejo.
Initiators need to do things meticulously. We’ve all been there – looking up customer guides on YouTube, heading to a lineup-testing site, and walking through walls to see if it’s landed right. Tejo offers Initiator players something different by being able to precisely place utilities using the map in more precise target areas, rather than relying on the pixel-perfect clusters that some utilities with a larger footprint may rely on. This allows you to be more precise in what you want to do but with the trade-off of having a smaller area of influence.
To use his subtle utility effectively, Tejo needs some information – and like other initiates, he’s good at gathering that information himself. “Since Tejo can provide information about where enemies are located, it allows him to be more consistent with the value he can provide,” said John Gussky, client team lead. “Tejo is one of the few Initiators who doesn’t have flash, so he’ll be more effective with another Initiator like Breach or KAY/O where you can create these really fast, explosive shots.”
The idea of this agent being the initiator who leads a team with a strong sense of the game is consistent with the perception of someone who is experienced on the battlefield and in life.
“The phrase we used a lot was just ‘action guy’. We’ve all seen the movies, read the books where you see the guy in the jacket, and he just comes in and destroys everyone. “He’s a tough professional, his shirt is open and he’s ready to play. It’s not like Chamber where every detail of his outfit is important to reinforce the idea of taking the perfect shot. Tegu will be running in there with all the bangs and everything should be loose, wavy and comfortable.
Anyone can play Tejo, but those with a strategic sense of the game can really make it shine. Rise to the challenge and learn how to use it to your advantage before anyone else does.
