Sony believes the PS5 will be used “for a long time like the PS4”

Sony Interactive Entertainment Co-CEO Hideaki Nishino said the company expects PS5 To have legs that resemble PlayStation 4. However, the company has no plans to delay the launch of the new version PS6 Because it considers it necessary to keep up with technological progress while supporting older consoles.

During an interview with the Japanese publication FamitsuNishino was asked about future prospects given the longevity of the PS4. In response, he said that the PS5 “will be around for a long time, just like the PS4.”

“I don’t think it’s right to delay the release of the next product that includes new technology because it (PS5) will be around for a long time,” Nishino added. “I think it’s important to introduce new things while playing with existing ones, and expanding overall.”

In response to a separate question, Nishino said the PS4 was built to last, and the PS5 is no different. As for the PS6, he says that Sony wants to provide hardware that will last a long time and combine this effort with introducing new technology to gamers.

“We believe that products are released with a balance between technology, price and timing,” Nishino concluded.
