Pearson kicked off 2025 by asking fans what they’d like to see from him this year: A Roguelike In the style of a “first-person tile-based dungeon crawler”…or the “spiritual successor” to Minecraft.
The developer explained some of his inspirations for the roguelike, which is his current focus, before admitting that “there may be people who like my work but who may not share my taste in nostalgia and would prefer me to create a spiritual successor to it.” Minecraft“And I mean sure, I’ll take that cash.”
