How to open the ancient archives portal in Fish

Before you find the portal, you should make a checklist of things to take to its hiding place. This includes 3 friends (4 players total), each of the parts (4 total), a glider and waiting to trigger the Eclipse event that occurs every 7 nights in-game. Let’s start with the shrapnel locations!

Where to find the parts

Make sure to favorite parts as soon as you get them because you will lose them if you sell the stock with a dealer otherwise! It has no sale value, so you’ll gain nothing and will need to get every part back.

• Solar widget – 6077, 443, 693
  • It is located on the peaks of the ancient island and can only be obtained during the eclipse.
• Plot of land – 5966, 269, 847
  • It is located inside a small pocket cave next to the Solar Totem and Phoenix Rod.
• Part of the deep sea – 5841, 75, 383
  • It is located at the base of the underwater waterfall.
• The old piece -No coordinates.
  • It was caught from the waters surrounding the ancient islands.

Now, this part is where you will need your friends, your glider, and the Eclipse event. If you remember the Earth Fragment location inside the cave, you can buy the Eclipse Totem for $250,000 CAD if you’re not due an Eclipse anytime soon.

To get to the gate, stand on the platform at 5857, 173 and 366. (This is just above where part of the deep sea was found, on a sand rock with a palm tree facing the waterfall). Behind the water, you should see an opening to slide into. When you’re inside, use the rope to climb down and you’ll be at the gate!

Open the gate

Now you are here, follow these simple steps:

• During the eclipse event, place each part in its corresponding column.
• Rotate each column until the part is facing you (the door will glow when it’s right).
• Once all the columns are facing the correct direction, have yourself and three friends stand on a pressure plate facing each column.
• Once done, the door should open and stay open!

I recommend only opening the portal if you have met all the conditions because quitting the game will undo your progress. Fortunately, once the portal is opened, it remains open permanently. On the other side of the gate is the Old Archives area which has its own small area for animals and crafts.
