Hogwarts Legacy It was, as we all well know, the best-selling game of 2023, which is why I’m very surprised that it somewhat flopped in post-launch support.
Let me break down my overall statement.
The developers at Avalanche Software have done an excellent job of ironing out bugs and glitches, but I’ve never seen a popular title like this offer so little post-release content.
Photo mode and a couple of cosmetics… that’s all that was dropped nearly two years ago Hogwarts Legacy Fired.
As the best-selling game of 2023, I imagine fans would have consumed the DLC even if it had been paid for – anything for the chance to, say, visit Diagon Alley or the Ministry of Magic.
There are rumors of a director’s cut supposedly being in the works (Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier previously claimed that Rocksteady developers have been enlisted to help) but you have to wonder if that will ever come to light.
As I said, we’re approaching the second anniversary, and the developers will likely be diligent in planning the work Hogwarts Legacy 2.
The game hasn’t been officially revealed but has been indicated as a priority by almost every important person working at Warner Bros, so it’s definitely a matter of ‘when’ and not ‘if’.
Chances are though when… Hogwarts Legacy 2 If it lands, it will likely leave previous-gen consoles behind.

Return when Hogwarts Legacy Finally dropping on previous generation consoles, we’ve highlighted some major differences here at GAMINGbible and it’s fair to say, the developers had to make a lot of tweaks to get the game to run on Playstation 4 and Xbox one.
Hogwarts’ outer bridges have been converted into inner corridors to prevent large environments from being overloaded, while the schools’ classrooms have been made smaller, displaying less detail.
Elsewhere, the entries – which are PlayStation 5, Xbox Series computer Players can easily pass – loading screens for previous generation players.
As with any franchise, Avalanche will have more ambition with the sequel which is a good thing because, let’s face it, Hogwarts LegacyThe game’s wider open world was a bit boring and repetitive.
If modifications have to be made to run OG hogwarts legacy, The chance of a sequel being made on previous generation devices is slim.
Not impossible, I must stress. Unlikely.
In fact, the extra months Avalanche’s developers spent working on previous generation and Nintendo Switch ports could explain why there’s been so little post-launch content.
Of course, we’ll have a much better idea on the game’s launch platforms when we hear an update on where the sequel actually is in the development cycle, but I’d brace yourself for the news that it may move from certain consoles.
