spotted before Tech raptorWe finally have a release window for next Gothic 1 remake From the developer Reactive chemistry.
In a Share the new year on the game’s Steam page From the developer, the studio said “For us, 2025 will be a really key year,” while continuing to say that the team is working hard to make the return to Valley of Mines what fans have come to expect and more.
However, this post and the studio’s tease of 2025 drew the ire of one online commenter, who claimed (incorrectly) that the studio was withholding the game’s release date, after claiming it would release in 2024 and then not stating anything else.
In response, The studio’s community manager stated the truth of the situation – no release window or release date has been officially announced by the team – and then went on to give us our first official comment on the Gothic 1 Remake release, saying “the game will be released in 2025.”
The last time we took a closer look at Gothic 1 Remake was Back in August during the publisher THQ Nordic 2024 Annual Exhibition. This was the first time proper gameplay was shown, but no release date – or time period – was mentioned.
Of course, it’s anyone’s guess why the person who commented thought the team said it was coming in 2024, since there’s no release date information (yet of course) dating back to the release time. The game was first announced in 2020.
But if it weren’t for their mistake, we wouldn’t have gotten our first actual report on the release date. This is something. Hopefully we’ll be able to hear more concretely from Alkimia Interactive soon when we expect to return to Valley of Mines in 2025.
