The Glass Diamond is a legendary catch, part of the fauna of the Overgrowth Cave. Although, maybe that’s not why you’re looking for them, right? The Glass Diamond is also an item used to unlock the Crystallized Rod, a special ice-covered fishing rod on the mountainside. You’ll need at least one Glass Diamond to free her from her frozen grave, but first you need to get that one.

How to get glass diamonds

You can find Glass Diamonds while fishing in the pool in Overgrowth Caves, and they are very easy to catch, despite their legendary rarity. In our tests we were able to find multiples in a very short session with the Arctic Rod. The fishing area is located in a cave a little further away from Camp 2. You don’t need special bait, or any specific conditions to get what you need.

How to use glass diamonds to get crystallized rods

Once you have one, you’ll need to enlist a friend or a willing player who also has one to take them to the Crystalized Rod point in the Frigid Cavern, each standing on the boards on either side of the rod while holding diamonds. Boom! Now you can both buy the crystallized wand if you want.
