Arena Breakout Infinite has big plans for 2025, including monetization changes

2025 is a big year for the tactical FPS and extraction genres. Solid games like Escape From Tarkov are still finding success, while newer releases like Gray Zone Warfare and Delta Force are trying to carve out a permanent place on the platform. Then there Infinite outbreak arena. With Early Access underway and a Steam release planned, developer MoreFun Studios has some big ABI plans for this year. You can expect a new map, more game modes, some much-needed nerfs, and even some huge changes to the current monetization system as well.

That’s why, as part of the new 2025 roadmap video, MoreFun explains what it has planned for the upcoming game mode.

“We’ve heard your requests for solo mode,” says Dave, co-producer of Arena Breakout Infinite. “In the next update, we will roll it out as a beta feature. Although we don’t think it will solve all the issues with multiplayer, we hope this testing will provide valuable insights.

You can also expect more game modes throughout 2025. Multiple competitive options such as elimination and team deathmatch are on the way, but MoreFun adds that each will have “its own unique touch.” There will also be Secure Ops, which takes the stress out of extraction games by letting you keep your gear, even if you die during a raid.

There’s more than just new content coming this year too, as MoreFun is once again nerfing the T7 Thermal Goggles. Since the start of Early Access, players have told MoreFun that the thermal mechanic has been incredibly overpowered, making it very easy for the user to spot and eliminate enemies from a distance. That’s why the team is adjusting the temperatures again, making them more suitable for the situations.

“We are reducing the temperatures further by removing their ability to see through the scopes,” Dave explains. “This change aligns closely with the real-world setting, and we also believe it is an appropriate adjustment from the gameplay experience.”

Temperatures aren’t the only thing that will be changed in the upcoming update. MoreFun optimizes spawn points, extraction points, and even the number of raid players to further improve your experience. Audio accuracy has also been improved, so you should have a better time hearing enemies when the pressure starts.

MoreFun is also listening to all your concerns regarding friendly fire and will work to reduce projectile damage to teammates, while the team is “currently discussing dealing with issues like loot theft and other toxic behaviors.”

You’ll also be playing in the new Northridge map this year, with MoreFun confirming it plans to add it to Arena Breakout Infinite alongside story content and new bosses. You can either venture into the Northridge Hotel itself for tense gunfights, or head to the suburbs for what Dave calls a “quieter experience.”

Dave also acknowledges that Arena Breakout Infinite’s current monetization system feels “fragmented,” and confirms that some big changes to purchases are on the way. Memberships, cases, and keychains will all be integrated moving forward in order to “simplify the experience.” If you are a currently paying player, don’t worry, as this change will not affect your benefits, rather compensation is planned to “ensure fairness.” Perhaps most interestingly, Dave says MoreFun is aware of how many players don’t like random gacha mechanics, with plans to offer another purchase method.

“We’ve heard feedback about the gacha mechanics, especially regarding the melee weapons and weapon skins introduced in Season 1. Many players prefer direct purchase options, and we’re working to include them in the next update.”
