Back in early December, we highlighted Six matches were nominated As the best Xbox titles of the year as part of IGN Awards 2024Plus the 14 games that qualified for the biggest award of all – Game of the Year.

We didn’t know the results at the time, but we do now! And when it comes to overall game of the year, Xbox finished in second place with Indiana Jones and the Grand Circlewhile Metaphor: refantasia It ended up taking the big prize.

Here’s how it ended:

  • Indiana Jones and the Grand Circle (runner up)
  • The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom (runner up)
  • Hell Divers 2 (runner up)
  • Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth (runner up)
  • Astro Bot (runner up)
  • Dragon Age: Veil (runner up)
  • Balatro (runner up)
  • Metaphor: refantasia (winner)

Interestingly, when looking at fan votes on IGN’s website, Black Legend: Wukong It was a top pick for Game of the Year, which IGN highlighted only as an “honorable mention”. IGN’s awards are voted on by the outlet’s content team, but if they had been based on on-site voting, Indiana Jones would have placed fourth.

Beyond that, Indiana Jones inevitably took home the award for “Best Xbox Game” as well. Hinterberg Dungeons and Senua Saga: Hellblade 2 They were originally nominated, but missed out on the “runner-up” spots. Here is the list:

  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 (runner up)
  • Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl (runner up)
  • Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 (runner up)
  • Indiana Jones and the Grand Circle (winner)

There are plenty of other winners crowned as part of the 2024 IGN Awards, so it’s worth browsing if you want to check out the full lineup. The Indiana Jones game has appeared in the “Runner-Up” category several times, but its only victory was in the “Best Xbox Game” section.

Regarding the GOTY win for Metaphor: ReFantazio, we have absolutely no problem with that! Atlus and SEGA did something great with that game in October – we even gave it away A very rare 10/10 score here at Pure Xbox!
