Xbox is set for a “bright” future, suggests an industry analyst

Xbox has prepared itself for the future

We’ve heard a lot of negatives for Xbox this year, though there have been many positives along the way, primarily due to the controversy surrounding several first-party titles making the transition to PlayStation (and Switch).

It is clear that Microsoft is starting to implement new strategies for the Xbox brand, as evidenced by the “high volume”.This is the Xbox” marketing campaign that began a few weeks ago However, Circana analyst Matt Piscatella says that because of these changes, the future “looks very bright” for the brand at the moment — despite the controversy.

talking to GamesRadar Recently, Piscatella pointed to Xbox’s impressive sales on PlayStation, as well as a focus on expanding Xbox’s reach beyond the console, as signs that the brand is positioning itself for a successful future.

“If you look at what’s happening now in sales, and you look at the PlayStation sales chart, you’ll see a lot of Microsoft there. And the more they can broaden the appeal of their products, their intellectual property across other platform holders, why wouldn’t they?”

“You look at their results in Earnings reports“And you go, ‘Well, this sounds pretty good, even though they realize that sales of the consoles themselves are lagging behind for them.'”

The analyst went on to suggest that if you “look at it this way,” things are looking very positive for Xbox’s future success. However, he also admitted that it has been difficult for the brand for the past two years without a doubt.

There’s more in the full interview if you’re interested (we’ll leave the link below), but yeah… we generally agree with Mat here at Pure Xbox. Microsoft is clearly doing what it believes is best for the future of the brand, but the problem is that by eliminating long-term exclusives, public perception will change and more dissatisfaction will inevitably emerge. Then again, does this even need to be a concern for people at Xbox anymore?

It’s an interesting question to ponder, and we’re certainly interested to see how things develop over the coming years…
