It was the night before the update and everything was fine;
Gamers stayed up late playing Xbox into the night.
When suddenly a pop-up appeared on their console
A new system update is available, what a nice surprise.
It contains many fixes and many new features,
Shortly after downloading, players were back to fighting creatures within the game.
Well, hold on to your hats, insiders, we’ve got a quick but festive community update for you!
First, the team wants to wish everyone a Happy Holidays and a safe New Year! Although I personally am not a fan of cold and dark weather, that did not prevent it from happening this year. Early sunsets and cool temperatures in the Northern Hemisphere bring some nice weather and a great reason to cuddle up inside and play some Xbox!
As in previous years, the team has paused preview builds on both console and PC to ensure maximum stability for everyone enjoying Xbox over the holidays. The team is working hard on future releases though! We’re still reviewing feedback as well, and the team is here to resolve any issues that may arise.
Don’t forget to keep checking the Insider Hub for new content throughout December and January!
We want to thank each and every one of you for making this community so special. I can’t tell you how proud I am to be part of the Xbox Insider Program. I want everyone to know that we appreciate you and the support you provide for the Xbox Insider Program.
Before I signed off, I asked some of our team members what they’re doing when they’re not busy this month, whether it’s gaming, relaxing, or something else random they’d like to share! Here’s what they had to say:
John: The goal is to finish the Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and the Ode to Castlevania DLC for Vampire Survivors.
Yeshua: I’m looking forward to watching all the classic holiday movies (again) and really getting into Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
Tim: I tend to be a glutton for punishment and play during nine sols. I’m also looking forward to spending time with family since I have a few people traveling from out of town for the holidays.
Donovan: I’m very much looking forward to spending this month playing Path of Exile 2, enjoying quality time with my family, and like many others, indulging in nostalgic Christmas movies to boost the holiday spirit.
Sally: Eating lots of cookies, playing cozy games, and hoping for new DLC for PowerWash Simulator. And of course time with family and friends.
Leland: All year long, every year, when I start a story game (“story games and CoD/BLOPs” accurately describes my favorite genre) and realize I’m starting to get invested in it, I stop playing it and it gets added to my list. Only two games are allowed on my list. If you come across a game that needs to be listed and there are already two in it, those games must decide between themselves, through cooperation or violence, which two will stay. Then I took one week in mid-December and completely disconnected (the kind of absolute isolation that has great wifi) and played these two story-driven games from cover to cover. In general, I find it very difficult to suspend disbelief, and it takes longer than I would like to truly immerse myself, but this week in December, I spend the vast majority of my time fascinated. It’s my favorite and it’s only days away, I can’t wait.
As for me, I’ve finished camo in Black Ops 6 so I feel like I can finally play the game! I’m also planning to finish the Aliens: Dark Descent achievements, and do battle with Jack Frost to keep my goose pond from freezing over like it has happened several times in the past.
What about you? We’d love to hear about what you’re up to this month like what games you’ve been playing or your plans for the holiday season. You can join the discussion on our subreddit below The December community update post is pinned at the top. I’ll be available throughout the month as ScantilyCloud to chat and answer any questions you may have. Feel free to share any game recommendations from 2024 with us as well – our backlog can never be full.
