Xbox in 2025 – Five big predictions for Xbox for next year

The past 12 months have been a whirlwind for Team Green, and it looks like things won’t slow down for Xbox next year. We dreamed about each other Xbox predictions for 2025Which includes everything new Games coming to Game Pass For Microsoft to ignore the Xbox achievements system for another year.

Xbox 2025 predictions: Everwild, more CoD for Game Pass, and Xbox exclusives for PlayStation

Using the combined knowledge and experience of the TrueAchievements content team, we’ve come up with five predictions that we think could be on the cards for Microsoft and Xbox in 2025. While some are a little more grounded and based on past events and our own plans. Knowledge, others are just hopes and dreams. Here are our predictions for Xbox 2025.

Some of the best Xbox franchises will be announced for PlayStation

At this point, we all know this happens. Xbox head Phil Spencer said it himself: There’s nothing stopping any Xbox exclusives from porting to PlayStation and Nintendo consoles. Halo, Gears of War, Forza, nothing is off limits. So far, we’ve only seen Microsoft release smaller Xbox IPs on competing consoles where it makes sense: Sea of Thieves, Hi-Fi Rush, Pentiment, and Grounded all have good reasons to be on other platforms. The bitter pill that many Xbox fans will actually swallow will be when Microsoft announces its major PlayStation exclusive franchises, franchises that have served as the foundations of Xbox for a long time now.

I think we’ll see a small wave of lesser Xbox exclusives move to PlayStation early in the year before Microsoft drops a bomb and announces something big for its competing console. Forza Horizon 5 makes sense – Sony doesn’t have anything like Forza Horizon 5 on PlayStation unless you count Ubisoft’s humble The Crew Motorfest. But then, which one from Halo and Gears will be the first to make the jump?

Microsoft will ignore Xbox’s achievements for another year

Xbox 2025 predictions

There are three things that are certain in life: death, taxes, and Microsoft ignoring its fantastic Xbox achievements system. I believe that in 2025, Microsoft will not make a single change to the Xbox achievements, as they have done for what seems like an eternity now. Sony continues to make Small and interesting innovations for PlayStation Awards Often times, while it may not be for everyone, at least it does SomethingUnlike Microsoft.

Maybe when Microsoft announces the next generation of Xbox consoles, we can start thinking about a potential Achievements overhaul. However, until then, I believe the Ark of Achievement has been hermetically sealed and moved to the back corner of a dusty warehouse.

Xbox will have the best year for new releases

We’ve had a very strong year for Xbox gaming, with big hitters like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, and Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 stealing the show, and more niche games like Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, and Age of Mythology: Retelling To support the Game Pass library. The 2025 lineup, though… wow, looks exciting.

As for confirmed games releasing in 2025, we know that Playground Games’ Fable reboot will arrive sometime in the next 12 months, as will Obsidian Entertainment’s The Outer Worlds 2 and Avowed – the latter of which will be released in February. We also have Compulsion Games’ action-adventure South of Midnight, which looks fantastic, as well as the brutality of Doom: The Dark Ages to look forward to as well.

Let’s not forget that another Call of Duty game is certain to be released at the end of 2025, while Gears of War: E-Day and State of Decay 3 have also been rumored to be released next year. It could be a great year for Xbox fans!

Xbox starts 2025 with a big drop in Call of Duty Game Pass

In recent weeks, we have seen Many classic Call of Duty games are getting PC ports Along with new Windows achievement lists. First, we saw ports of Call of Duty: United Offensive, Call of Duty 2, and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare on PC appear on the Microsoft Store, followed shortly after by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009) and Modern Warfare 3 (2011).

Activision games have received PC ports before the release of Xbox Game Pass before, but none of the games have joined the service yet. Although not confirmed, rumors suggest that Microsoft is setting up another Developer Direct in early 2025 – a showcase we’ve seen in the past couple of years that gives us a look at its upcoming lineup of games – so perhaps Xbox is setting up a big Call of Duty game pass drop for the occasion. . Fingers crossed!

Everwild breaks cover again

Hey, it’s me, once again anticipating/hoping/desperately hoping we’ll see something, anythingfrom Everwild in the year 2025.

It almost feels like a tradition to ask at this point since I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve mentioned the mysterious Everwild as one of my predictions, but surely we should hear something soon?

Let’s review what we know: Everwild was revealed as Rare’s new magical IP over five years ago, and since then we’ve heard… not much. We’ve had some interesting trailers. We know that the game itself focuses on themes of nature and magic, and every now and then, the developers announce that it’s still a work in progress, or we see a Rare being employed in the game, but that’s about it.

I’m desperately hoping that 2025 is the year of Everwild – a re-announcement, a trailer, a dev blog, or even a screenshot (I don’t even dare think of a release window) – but for now, at least we have cool randomness Phil Spencer update That it went to Rare and that yes, Everwild is still happening.

That’s all of our predictions for Xbox 2025, but what do you think? Does it agree with our ideas/hopes/dreams? Let us know in the comments. For a look at all of the 2025 Xbox exclusive game releases, check out our list Xbox exclusives coming in 2025.
