What to expect from Marvel in 2025

While some of the biggest releases on the Marvel horizon are still a long way off, like the conclusion of the two-part Multiverse Saga Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, there’s still plenty to keep fans busy in 2025. With Captain America: Brave New World and the new Disney+ series like The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Daredevil: Born Again or Marvel Zombies to choose from and tons of new comics, there’s enough media for Marvel maniacs to sink their teeth into.

To make sure you don’t miss any of them, here’s a breakdown of everything we know is coming from Marvel in 2025.

The Grand Return of the MCU

2024 was a smaller-than-usual year for Marvel at the movies, with Deadpool & Wolverine being the only MCU film to open in theaters. There were other Sony Pictures offerings like Venom: The Last Dance and Kraven the Hunter, but the MCU let the Merc with the Mouth carry the flag in theaters. That’s all set to change in 2025, with three new films set to shake up the MCU in a big way as the franchise prepares to complete Phase Five and launch Phase Six.

It is the first Captain America: Brave New Worldwill be released on February 14. The fourth film in the Cap franchise and Anthony Mackie’s first starring Sam Wilson, Brave New World is directed by Julius Onah and features Sam in an espionage thriller where he will encounter President Hulk. er, President Thaddeus Ross, now played by Harrison Ford, who will become the Red Hulk. We know that too Giancarlo Esposito will play against Sidewinderthe leader of the Serpent Society in the comics, and Tim Blake Nelson will take over as the leader in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk. The cast also includes Danny Ramirez’s Joaquin Torres as the new Falcon, Carl Lumbly as Isaiah BradleyShira Haas will return as Ruth Bat-Seraph, the former Black Widow, and Liv Tyler will return as Betty Ross.

It’s next the thunder* (yes, the asterisk is part of the title), will be published on May 2nd. Directed by Jake Schreier, this is a new franchise for the MCU, but will feature mostly characters that fans are already familiar with. Florence Pugh, Yelena Belova, Sebastian Stan, Bucky Barnes, David Harbour, Red Guardian, Wyatt Russell John Walker, Hannah John-Kamen Ghost and Olga Kurylenko will form a Taskmaster team from Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Valentina Allegra de. La Fontaine. Lewis Pullman is also rumored to be making his MCU debut the Sentinel. At least on paper, this seems like a far cry from the comic series premise of supervillains masquerading as superheroes, especially since Daniel Brühl’s Baron Zemo is apparently nowhere to be found, but we’ll find out what the MCU takes up. Thunderbolts is coming soon.

Finally, Marvel fans everywhere will finally see the First Family join the MCU Fantastic Four: First Steps It will be released on July 25. WandaVision Directed by Matt Shakman, this reboot of the Fantastic Four franchise sees them set in a retro-futuristic 1960s-inspired world as they battle the world-devouring space god known as Galactus. For the cast, Mr. Pedro Pascal Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby The Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn The Human Torch, Ebon Moss-Bachrach The Thing, Ralph Ineson Galactus, Julia Garner Shalla Bal (who will be). Silver Surfer in this version), and Natasha Lyonne in an undisclosed role. We’re also getting an appearance from robot assistant HERBIE, and hopefully a tease or cameo Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom.

Outside of the MCU, Sony had multiple 2024 movies in the Spider-Man spin-off universe, we don’t have a set release date yet, but there might be a good reason for that. While Venom: The Last Dance teased comic book cosmic villain Knull as the main character going forward, we recently heard that Sony may not have any interest in developing any more live-action spin-offs and instead want to focus on the fourth Spider-Man. -Daniel Destin Cretton director’s man movie set in the MCU. Also, we’re still in the dark as to when the third film in the Spider-Verse animated trilogy will be. Beyond the Spider-Verseit will be released eventually, but we hope for an update on it sooner rather than later.

Will there be a Marvel game in 2025?

Compared to the film and TV slates, Marvel looks set to have a thin year on the gaming front in 2025, barring any surprises. Part of this is because while some Marvel games have been announced, there have been few updates since then, so we don’t know how many there are. Among them are Iron Man from Motive Studio, Insomniac’s Wolverine, Black Panther by Cliffhanger Games and Arkane’s Blade. We also know that we’re not getting any story DLC for Spider-Man 2, so we’ll have to wait and see when we get more news on Spider-Man 3 and the plans for the Venom spin-off game that we’ve learned about. Late 2023 from the Insomniac leak.

One game tentatively slated for release in 2025 is Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra.

Also, despite NetEase’s hero shooter Marvel Rivals Available now, it will receive seasonal content updates throughout 2025 as a live service game, including new heroes, maps, and costumes.

Marvel’s Biggest Comics of 2025

As if Marvel’s stacked lineup of 2025 movies and shows wasn’t enough, they’re also big on comics. For a large part of the year their main focus is “One World Under Doom,” a major crossover that explores what happens when the Doctor becomes the new Sorcerer Supreme and declares himself emperor of the entire world.

Kicking off in February, the main book One World Under Doom is a nine-issue series by Fantastic Four writer Ryan North and Powers of X artist RB Silva. That series will show the Avengers teaming up and coming together to stop Doom, even though many people in the Marvel Universe are happier living under Doom’s rule. We’ll also see this situation in other spin-off series and ongoing comics, including North’s Fantastic Four, Joe Kelly’s The Amazing Spider-Man, and many others.

Marvel will also continue to bet big on the new Ultimate Universe in 2025. January will see the debut of Chris Condon and Alessandro Capuccio. Ultimate Wolverinealong with the other constants that take its place Latest books Like Ultimate Spider-Man, Ultimate X-Men and The Ultimates. The Ultimate line will also experience its first major crossover event in the summer of 2025.

There are other big stories worth watching as 2025 begins. Marvel is ready to launch New poisonseries that pairs the symbiote with a new host, though Eddie Brock himself becomes the new Carnage. Look for many big developments in the X-Men line as Marvel continues to release new titles”from the ashes” story and builds to a major crossover throughout the year. And finally, Sam Wilson is getting a new monthly series tied to the release of Captain America: Brave New World, where he’ll suit up as Captain America again and battle the Red Hulk.
