Capcom is working on a sequel EyesA fantastic 2006 Zelda remake where you play as the Sun God in the body of a wolf, wandering through a world of paint and parchment. It is being jointly developed by M-TWO Inc, Machine Head Works Inc and CLOVERS Inc, and is being directed by the original Okami game director Hideki Kamiya. I can tell you it touched the pink color. There’s not much to share at this stage – the game doesn’t even have an official title – but we do have a little blurb from Capcom. Here it is: “Okami is a game that is very popular for its unique world, interesting story and exciting adventures. Now, a new adventure similar to Okami begins.
The trailer is a departure from the original game’s Sumi-e-inspired visuals – it’s more fur and hair. Maybe a little too busy for comfort, next to the busy but crisp initial scrollwork. But there are many familiar sights: the goddess Amaterasu herself, roaming through the lush fields, the glowing food spinning on her back and the celestial brush finally brushing her cheek.
I didn’t expect a new Okami game in 2024 (nor did I). New Onimushaoh good job, Capcom my goodness but it has vision and heart and imagination in spades. I still play. Introduction movie Now and then to benefit myself. Ōkamiden, the Nintendo DS spin-off I haven’t been around to play. Time to change that, maybe.
It’s something of a homecoming for Kamiya, who left Capcom in 2006 to found Platinum Games. He left Platinum to go independent.He commented, “I will continue to create in the way of Hideki Kamiya.” has been Giving hints about Okami’s series of ideas For years.
