That’s why it’s no surprise that studios are getting in on the action and the same can be said about Sonka, the developers behind Holstein.

Holstein It is a psychological survival horror game set in an isolated and strange Polish town during the 1990s.

The official synopsis reads: “Late November 1992. A small, isolated town in eastern Poland is struck by a terrible disaster that slowly begins to consume everyone and everything it touches.”

“This is your friend Bartik’s last known whereabouts before he stopped answering your calls. Now, you need to follow in his footsteps to uncover why he came to this city in the first place and why he may not have been able to get out at all.

As an ominous presence sweeps through the city, it’s up to you to find the answers as everyone seems haunted by monstrous entities.

If you want to survive, you’ll have to fight off evil apparitions, interrogate the locals, and explore a festering city bent on killing you.

In typical post-apocalyptic game style, you’ll have to scavenge for supplies and weapons as you fight crazed locals and discover the city’s secrets and mysteries.

Using custom technology at home, Holstein It also features a “new spin on the pixel look” with hand-drawn environments, dynamic lighting, and camera rotation.

all in all, Holstein It’s not to be missed, especially since you can now try before you buy ahead of its full release.
