There is a new Sonic Racing game in development.

I am a big fan Sonic and all-stars racing has changedSonic and pals clash with characters from Sega’s other games, including Total War and Soccer Manager. I’m a fan of Sonic’s other kart racing exploits, but I’m still cautiously interested in getting back behind the wheel. Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds has just been announced.

Well, that’s short. And it doesn’t feature Sonic – it’s the current favorite Shadow behind the wheel in the short teaser trailer above. We will learn more about the game in 2025.

Maybe it includes who is doing it. There is no developer logo on the trailer above bar Sega themselves. The most recent game in the series, 2019’s Team Sonic Racing, and the previous one, Racing Changed, were both Sumo Digital creations – although it’s long overdue and the latest one wasn’t well received, so I doubt it’s the same. Do this time.

In any case, the idea suggested in the title “Cross Worlds” gives me hope that I can compete with that strange headless football manager.
