The Sonic the Hedgehog Film franchise has earned $1 billion at the box office



Paramount Pictures has hailed the success of the Sonic film franchise after Sonic the Hedgehog 3 helped it surpass $1 billion at the global box office.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3Starring Keanu Reeves as Shadow, it recently crossed $100 million at the international box office and has earned over $187 million internationally for a cumulative worldwide gross of over $336.3 million. Sonic 3 grossed $51.2 million in its second weekend in 61 markets, with three more markets remaining as of January 10 including China.

The first Sonic the Hedgehog was released in February 2020 starring Jim Carrey as Robotnik. The follow-up was in April 2022, with both films grossing $725.2 million worldwide, with an additional $181 million from home entertainment rentals and purchases.

The spinoff series Knuckles hit Paramount+ last April and became the streamer’s number one kids and family series by hours.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 was released on December. Paramount said the film is doing similarly better than Sonic 2. It was no surprise when Paramount announced that development is underway on a fourth installment of the Sonic the Hedgehog film series, considering. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 the ending teases another new Sonic character for that film.
