While the sequel to the Rail-shooter series comes with a remastered soundtrack, it still retains the original music in case you want to switch back to the good old days. The graphics and gameplay have also been revamped, not to mention access to additional modes.
It also comes with three modes: Boss, Training, and Classic Campaign. The latter revives the famous story of AMS agents Gary Stewart and James Taylor who investigate undead creatures terrorizing the city. Other highlights include branching paths, multiple endings, and cooperative play, though it’s unclear if online co-op will be supported.
Despite the excitement of the release, arcade legends are still disappointed by the uncertainty surrounding some key details and the absence of modern features like online leaderboards. For example, PC players were hoping for clearer details for add-on content like Typing of the Dead 2.

The premiere will be an example of how to do this Sega It approaches its heritage titles. The remake is sure to create that nostalgic experience, but fans want something more ambitious. What a huge milestone it would be if the developers rebooted The House of the Dead as a modern first-person shooter.
Interestingly, the trailer credited Megapixel Studio as the developer, with the SEGA logo conspicuously missing. While the latter retains the copyright, this development signals a shift in roles and another collaboration between Forever Entertainment and Megapixel Studio.
