As 2024 ends, I look at it and say “Wow, this year has brought us a treasure trove of mobile games.”. Among Elevations and Lowest levelsall genres were covered and as an audience, it was an enjoyable ride, to say the least. Before we start the new year, I wanted to highlight the game that defined 2024, but of course, my colleagues on the GamingonPhone editorial team had their favorite games to share among the mobile games of 2024. Together, we dive into a myriad of games, starting with the hit A hit with hidden indie gems. Now, we’re excited to share the games that made this year truly memorable, so share right away if you’ve shared your favorite game with any of us!
My favorite mobile game of 2024 is Zenless Zone Zero. The game didn’t start out great, but it quickly improved and has been running consistently ever since. The updates have improved the game, adding new content and features that keep things fresh. As a fan of the Hoyoverse, I enjoy the characters they have created. Each character has a unique personality and fighting style, making them fun to learn and experience.
The combat is one of the best parts. Combos and counterattacks are a lot of fun to pull off, and the feeling of well-executed action is unparalleled. The smooth combat system makes the battles more engaging, and it is easy to get lost in the battle. The game’s futuristic world is visually stunning, adding to the overall experience. Overall, Zenless Zone Zero was a great ride, and I will continue to play it all year long.
As someone who has played many competitive games for years, especially the popular MOBA, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, I decided to take a break from that aspect this year and try out some exciting casual games. But the game I enjoyed the most was Archero 2, the sequel to the popular casual hybrid, Archero. I enjoyed the challenges of the roguelike, including 50 main chapters and many other challenges and game modes.
The game is easy in the first few chapters but soon becomes more difficult with different boss battles. With its enhanced visuals, adorable characters, smooth user interface, simple controls and many other contents, the game provides a fun and exciting gaming experience, perfect for playing during breaks.
In 2024, we’ve seen many great mobile titles debut. I tried to play as many of these games as possible, but the one that really caught my attention was Pokémon TCG Pocket. Being an avid Pokemon fan since childhood, this game reminded me of the days when I used to collect physical Pokemon cards with friends.
The exciting card art and overall UI are very attractive. The easy-to-learn aspect of Pokémon TCG Pocket also makes it very attractive to new audiences. With so many positive features, it has undoubtedly earned a place at the top of my 2024 favorites list.
With so many game genres released this year, the one that caught my attention the most, as a gamer, was the hit otome game Love & Deepspace. Its stunning 3D models, interactive first-person mechanics, rich character lore, and exciting boss battles come together to create an incredibly immersive and fun game.
Honor of Kings is my favorite game of 2024. The way it blends strategy, culture, and innovation is on a whole other level. The gameplay is very engaging, and with frequent updates, it always feels new and exciting. As someone who loves MOBA games, I’m addicted to the unique features that HOK offers. It’s immersive, fun and has that spark that keeps me coming back for more.
2024 has been a year full of highs and lows for me as a mobile gamer with a knack for playing football games on mobile devices. Being a football fan and mobile gamer, every year I look for the best marriage between these two, and this year did not disappoint either.
There weren’t many significant releases in the football simulation genre with FC Mobile, eFootball and DLS getting regular season updates, so I was eagerly looking forward to what the management titles brought. Honestly, I was disappointed to see Soccer Manager 2025 fail to hit any significant mark and delay the launch of Football Manager 25. However, at the end of 2024, EA’s FC Empires came out and it was a game changer for me.
FC Empires has all the necessary elements of a football management simulator along with official club licenses as well, i.e. you can play with real players against real teams. You can build your facilities, watch your team go from strength to strength, and grow your fan base. Little details like the opposing team’s bus arriving at your stadium beforehand add to the excitement on match day. Although it’s not perfect and there’s a lot of room for improvement, I really believe that FC Empires can replicate the old lost FIFA Manager series over time.
There’s something magical about cooperative games that bring people together for endless fun. Party games? Oh, those are my absolute favorite. Of all the games I tried and tested this year, Fall Guys easily takes the crown as my favorite game of 2024. I experienced the chaos of Fall Guys for the first time on PC, and it was amazing. But once the game finally came to mobile, it took on a whole new level of excitement, because I wasn’t the only one playing it.
Suddenly, my entire group of friends jumped on board, and every session turned into a laugh-filled competition of jumping, dodging and falling in the most ridiculous ways. The blame game is funny when someone loses a team’s chance to qualify. The magic of the game lies in its simplicity, anyone can pick it up and play it. Yes, these maps appear repetitive, but each round feels like a rollercoaster of unexpected fun. As I write this, a message has already appeared on Discord.”The party continues!
2024 has been a year of mixed emotions for me as a mobile gamer. Although I discovered a few standout games, one that really caught my attention was Honor of Kings.
As a fan of mobile MOBAs, I was blown away by the game’s production quality. From its visually stunning graphics to its smooth gameplay mechanics, Honor of Kings felt extremely polished. It’s no surprise that the game has consistently topped the revenue charts in China for years.
For me, Honor of Kings offered what many other games couldn’t: a truly engaging and competitive experience that feels rewarding for players who invest the time to master it. While Arena of Valor struggles to replicate the massive online success of Honor of Kings outside of China, I really hope this title can break through and achieve global acclaim.
