Pac-Man It’s doing Prince of Persia: Warrior Within, y’all. That said, Bandai Namco’s series is doing one of those dark, gritty iterations. It’s called Shadow Labyrinth, it’s out in 2025, and it’s a 2D hack-and-slash with creepy monster designs. But nothing is quite as terrifying as Pac-Man’s transformation into a massive championship black hole. Wakkawakkawakkawakkawakkaw do you play this?
They don’t seem to control Pac-Man in Shadow Labyrinth. Instead you play a dumb human fighter, with Pac-Man floating behind him like a Chinese lantern. If you feed him, he will do the black hole trick and eat your enemies. I can’t think of a scarier way to die than being eaten by Pac-Man. He doesn’t even chew.

This might not be the first “dark” Pac-Man game, but they certainly pulled out the stops. It’s definitely dripping in unintentionally funny jokes, though. Next do Kirby, the games industry, it’s horrible.
