Razer has just unveiled its innovatively named laptop cooling pad, which is… Laptop stand Which the company claims can boost your laptop’s performance. It may sound like an RGB-smothered gimmick of epic proportions, but we just got it and can vouch that it actually works.
while Best laptop for gamingThe world’s population should have enough built-in cooling capacity to maximize gaming performance, and the simple truth is that they often don’t, and even when they do, simply placing your laptop on certain surfaces can take a toll on it. Great on how good it is. That cooling works. Any type of laptop stand can help maximize your laptop’s cooling potential, however Scanner The laptop cooling pad combined with the Razer Hyperboost feature takes things a step further.
Razer revealed for the first time Laptop cooling pad A few months ago, the idea behind it is that it has a large 140mm fan that can push air up and through your laptop, boosting its cooling and thus allowing the CPU and GPU to maintain their maximum clock speeds for longer for more performance. Because the fan is much larger than the one in your laptop, it can spin slower and quieter for the same amount of air throughput, or for peak performance it can just blow through more air.
We’ll have to see how well this works first hand at Razer’s booth at this week’s CES trade show. With one of the company’s Razer Blade laptops – unfortunately, not the new RTX 5090 equipped one Razer Blade 16 Sitting on top of the cooling pad, we noticed the frame rate in Shadow of the Tomb Raider improve from 159 fps to 175 fps thanks to the additional cooling.
However, there are two caveats to this impressive result. The first is that we saw this particularly decent boost using a Razer laptop that was also running the company’s Hyperboost feature. This is a new software update available for all recent Razer Blade laptops that makes them recognize that they are using a cooling pad and effectively apply maximum boost frequencies to the laptop’s CPU and GPU.
Without this software feature that specifically pushes the CPU and GPU to their limits, there’s no guarantee that your laptop’s CPU and GPU will actually overclock while adding additional cooling. There is a good possibility, but not a guarantee.
The other factor is noise. While a cooling pad can help keep your gaming laptop running cooler and quieter than if you were using Hyperboost and looking to get peak performance, your laptop’s fans and cooling pad will be running fast and loudly.
However, it’s great to have the option to switch between cool, quiet mode and maximum performance mode, especially if you have a high-quality gaming headset with noise cancellation. group like Razer Barracuda Pro or Alienware Pro Wireless Have you covered on that front.
