Perhaps the rarer Dawning emblems have been eavesdropped as well – Destructoid

If there’s anything to consider in player accounts, it seems there’s something else Destiny 2 Bug amidst the recent deluge of issues that accompanied Dawn Holiday event. Bungie created three limited-time emblems for the event featuring Commander Zavala, Ikora Rey, and Crow. Emblems were supposed to be extremely rare at the launch of the event and gradually become easier to earn as the event goes on. However, this does not appear to be what happened in the game.

Destiny 2 He’s been going through a rough patch lately. current episode, avengerIt was full of issues. First, players realized that weapon perks were not distributed properly in what became known as Weight gateand followed shortly after tonicgateAs the players revealed this avengerThe primary loot system, Tonics, was not working as intended. As if this wasn’t bad enough, Destiny 2 The Dawning holiday event soon began, which was similarly enjoyable Full of issues.

With everything going on, especially with the overwhelming amount of buggy Dawning features and missions, limited emblems that don’t behave as described by Bungie probably weren’t on the community’s radar. However, looking at some of the online rhetoric, something definitely seems amiss Destiny 2The first bread of dawn.

Bake-Off was a bust

Bungie has explained how the 2024 Dawning bake-off will work in a game This week in communication destiny A few days before the event starts. The team explained that the three logo rewards will be extremely rare when the event begins, but as the community engages with the baking process, the chances of earning the limited taste will increase. Accompanying this explanation, Bungie shared a schedule detailing the NPCs that will be featured during each week that Dawning is running.

“Through Dawn, baking a certain batch of cookies starting from a certain week will grant you progress toward the community-wide goal: a significant drop rate increase for all three emblems,” Bungie noted. “If we all bake enough of them, sooner rather than later we’ll reach the threshold, dramatically increase our drop rate chances, and earn badges. All three drop each week of the event, so don’t worry if you’re out during one.

However, in practice, the baking process does not seem to have worked as intended. There are countless Examples of player comments around Questionable drop rates Online, one player even suggested he had done just that I opened something like 130 gift packs for returns Before you get one limited logo. And the strangest thing is that Examples of players Who quickly and He easily got all three Of the logos inside their The first few packets Early in the event, when rewards were supposed to be rarest.

From Christmas to Krampus

Of course, success and progress towards better emblem drop rates was contingent on players participating in the event, baking treats, and delivering them to special NPCs in any given week. It’s certainly possible that player progress wasn’t enough during the three-week event, but player engagement is no secret for Bungie, and it wouldn’t make sense to set an engagement target that high for the current player base. Add to that the accounts of players getting their emblems strangely quickly, and it seems likely that there was another bug (or RNG issue) that affected the emblem drop rate or hidden interaction bonus.

What makes the whole situation even more horrific is the process players go through to get a single gift in return and a shot at what appears to be an unreliable system. The “Gift in Return” item is obtained from NPCs after giving them a reward. The only thing is that a gift in return is only one possible reward and it is by no means the most common. Guardians will likely get some shiny weapons or random weapons. After turning a few dozen cookies into three or four gift-for-return packages, it can be frustrating to have all that work coming down to just a few optimization cores. It’s even more annoying when you realize that the same Return Gift packs can be spent on Eva’s guaranteed Dawning weapons, which also have a chance of a Dawning Mementos bonus.

Personally, I was able to earn two of the three rare emblems in my first five gift packs on the first day of dawn. From there, I was unable to earn third place throughout the rest of the event, even with near-daily participation — and I must have opened between 10 and 15 return gift packages in the final three days of the event alone.

Between some early players getting the paid event pass for free, all the other bugs, and perhaps even baked-in logos, 2024’s Dawning hasn’t left the community in a particularly cheerful mood. Hopefully Bungie can reignite passion and restore player confidence in the new year, but 2024 ended up being more than just a holiday for Guardians.
