Hi, I’m Jesus Iglesias, Game Director here at Saber Interactive. We recently revealed that our upcoming game Turok: Origins is coming to PS5, so we’ve rounded up some burning questions about the new announcement. I’m excited to share additional details about the upcoming release of Turok: Origins with the PlayStation Blog.
Can you talk more about Third Person and why you decided to go this route?
We’re all huge fans of the previous games and the franchise in general. But we ultimately wanted to explore a different direction from the previous Turok Titles. Saber has a rich history in making third-person shooters and our experience in this area gives us a unique opportunity to develop the series while maintaining the familiar elements that make a great Turok character. expertise. We’ve created a new version of the classic Turok franchise that fans old and new will enjoy.
What is your view on the history of the Turok franchise?
Traditionally, Turok is a very eclectic franchise, mixing elements as diverse as dinosaurs, aliens and robots. We feel like we’re starting a new chapter for the series with Turok: Origins.
How does Turok: Origins fit into Turok lore?
Turok: Origins Fits seamlessly into the Turok A universe where legendary Turok warriors unite to save humanity from aggressive alien species and total annihilation. As the story develops, players will discover ancient mysteries connected to the Turok people and their history.
Why do you think the appreciation for Turok has always been there?
We think it has a little something for everyone, and fits well with the imaginations of players who love exploring weird and wonderful worlds throughout the universe, adventuring around new planets, new creatures and enemies, and of course, fighting dinosaurs.
What are some of the most exciting challenges and opportunities in bringing Turok back into the modern era?
Challenges with fetching The return of Turok is similar to the one we encounter in any major project. The gaming market is very competitive, and there are always new and interesting things that we need to be prepared for. But we see Turok As a very exciting prospect because it has a strong heritage with unique features that make it stand out with dinosaurs, aliens, action and exploration.
Did players have to play the original Turok to enjoy/understand this game?
Players do not need to have played previous Turok games to understand and appreciate Turok: Origins. This is a completely new stand-alone adventure.
Why does Turok: Origins include co-op instead of just a single-player experience?
While Turok: Origins can certainly be enjoyed as a single-player experience, we also wanted to create a game that friends could experience together. Since the story ties into the lore and history of the Order of the Turok and features more than one Turok, we saw it as an opportunity to introduce co-op play to the series.
