It’s time, Helldefers. War has changed.

These are dark times for freedom-loving citizens everywhere. Our galaxy grows cold from the embrace of returning ancient enemies and darkens as the threat of new horrors emerges.

We must now stand together in the light of Super Earth and oppose this evil news. These are signs of tyranny.

Luminous return

Having been lost for nearly a century, the Illuminati will challenge our recruits more than other factions have faced. They are advanced, highly intelligent beings who use powerful technology that to ordinary citizens seems like some kind of black magic.

At the end of the First Galactic War, the Helldivers worked together to eliminate the Illuminati. We thought we had succeeded, and for nearly 100 years, we lived in relative peace, successfully keeping the Terminid and Automaton threats at bay. Thanks to our continued recruitment and training of new Helldivers, we have been able to hold out on both fronts with complete and unparalleled success.

But now the Illuminati has appeared seemingly out of nowhere. Although we do not know the true origin of the invasion, we now have no choice but to suppress three factions in the galactic war.

The Illuminati spreads through mind control, kidnapping citizens with the weakest devotion to democratic ideals and brainwashing them for a dark purpose that remains unknown to us. These mind-controlled citizens have been twisted and corrupted into a threat we call the Voiceless – the people of Super-Earth have turned against the principles of democracy and fair elections, losing their ability to vote entirely.

The intentions behind the Illuminati invasion remain unclear. For now, they remain small groups of insurgents, launching attacks, building mysterious structures, and kidnapping citizens before disappearing again.

It’s up to us to stop them from extending their totalitarian tentacles into Super Earth’s reach.

The battle is on our doorstep

Omens of Tyranny takes the fighting to the streets, with new mission areas within Super Earth’s many colonies.

Our colonies are being destroyed by these invaders, turning our bright, sunny streets full of smiling citizens into dark ruins, overrun by Voteless and Iluminate. Arm yourself with your reliable tools of destruction and rid our colonies of this scum.

But it won’t be easy. Gone are the wide-open spaces where Helldivers used to fight. Cities mean closer quarters, dark alleys, and forked paths where a wrong turn means facing a crowd of voteless liberationists. You’ll need your best and brightest team to navigate them carefully.

Lighten up, boss

With all these new developments, there will be no time to get a driver’s education certificate. Courses, Hildiver. The Fast Reconnaissance Vehicle “FRV” will now appear in the Colonies, ready to blast across Illuminate at high speed.

Keep following the key orders issued by Super Earth High Command and you will get your keys king FRV – a completely new combat reconnaissance vehicle with a manual transmission. The whole team can ride together, and your passengers can even lean out the windows to lay down some suppressive fire as you shift gears and speed to your next destination. Only one question remains: Who is driving the car?
