How would younger me respond to the concept of play seasons? “Please leave me alone, I’m busy rehearsing. The suffering 2 Who knows which ethical beginnings and endings I chose to watch a new 15-second cutscene for the 6th time. It reads “Saved you from the first game and everything!” Say ‘Memory Card’ to young Broccoli-Mand. Fortnite Fun at the moment. Go ahead, I dare you. They will be at home before you know it.
Still, finding new toys all the time is one of the downsides of the new live-in service. Especially if they are for the best Strategy of Mechabellum. Season 2 was released yesterday Adhesive 1.2I think I don’t mind bringing new rooms and specials, some reworks and a lot of decoration pieces, but I’m very happy when I open a new one.
The new unit is the Raiden, a giant flyer that fires three bolts of lightning at different targets at once. It is good at fighting middle classes. Also for Sabertooth (new model, new technology) and the RulerIt is now “bigger, stronger and more expensive”. Death Knell is a new, scarier version of my favorite big laser boy Melting Point, but it’s only available in Brawl and Survival modes, which I don’t play. When I think about my formation, the realistic, practical tactical thinking that I often have in Mechabellum is “needs more benefits!” It is, so I have to branch out.
But the star of the show is definitely the new Specialist, mostly because of how cunning he looks from his years of service in the mechanized Eternal Wars. An Intensive Training Expert gets an additional 50 supplies in the first round, as well as a free Intensive Training upgrade. That’s what elevates a class. In part, Mechabellum is a game of deciding how much time you have to give your opponent’s special chain to block and react, so I’m interested to see how much damage this troublesome warlord can do.
Here My review Mechabellum, I slapped on a Bestest Best. Here’s a paragraph that I feel sums up the game pretty well:
His true joy is destruction in vain; Between the locked trigger pull and the crescendo of the banana flare, it’s incredibly tactile for a game where not a single shell casing lasts for minutes. Looking for weak spots, applying the over-saving suppression dash, and watching the entire flanks take turns while gaining advantage for several rounds of planning – this plan can seem overwhelming to your opponent. The only snack-sized hunchback is when you check the patterns in your enemy’s space and justify their plans with a “not today, Fuko” before they’re about to pull it off.
Fun robots big. Big robots are fun.
