Marvel Rivals January 2025 Balance changes


Marvel competitors The new year will start with a Galactus-sized update, update 20250110, which will dramatically change the competitive landscape for the hero shooter. Based on data collected during Marvel Rivals Season 0 from gameplay footage and community feedback, Update 20250110 will make adjustments to hero balance across the board.

Update 20250110 is a big update, which will affect different heroes differently. Some underrated champions are getting significant buffs to make them more attractive to play, while a few broken competitive champions are being de-buffed to help level the playing field. Here’s everything you need to know about Marvel Rivals credit changes for January 2025.

As mentioned above, Marvel competitors Update 20250110 is about balance, and it doesn’t play favorites with anyone. Some heroes get significant boosts, including more health, faster skill cooldowns, and stat boosts to their primary and secondary abilities. Others draw shorter straws, losing some of their ability range or worse, having their overall damage/healing output reduced.

Team abilities are also getting some rebalancing, which will enhance or change some familiar team loadouts. Here are all the patch notes for Marvel Rivals update 20250110.

Vanguard modifications

Captain America

  • Reduced the delay time to restore the shield after launching a Living Legend from 3 seconds to 2 seconds.
  • Liberty Rush cooldown reduced from 12 seconds to 10 seconds.
  • Increased base health from 650 to 675.
  • Reduced the energy cost of launching Freedom Charge (maximum power) from 3400 to 3100; Reduced the additional health per second given to self after being fired from 110 to 100.

Doctor Strange

  • Add a damage reduction to Maelstrom of Madness and Gamma Maelstrom. It starts at 5 meters and drops to 70% at 8 metres.
  • Slightly reduced the armor recovery rate after releasing the Seraphim Armor from 80/s to 70/s.

bull

  • Increased base health from 500 to 525.
  • Added immunity to control effects during Thunder God (ultimate ability).

Structure

  • Reduced the gamma armor value of the Hero Hulk’s Indestructible Guardian from 250 to 200.

Poison

  • Increased the percentage of Symbiotic Resilience bonus health gained per health point lost from 1 to 1.2.
  • Increased Feast of the Abyss’s base damage (maximum ability) from 40 to 50.

Swordsman modification

Black Panther

  • Reduced the bonus health given to the soul after updating Vibranium Marks with Spirit Rend from 40 to 30, and the maximum bonus health given from 120 to 75.

Black widow

  • Increase the range of Edge Dancer’s first effect from a 3 meter radius to a 5 meter radius.
  • Reduce the time required for Fleet Foot to recover from 0 stamina to full stamina from 12 seconds to 4 seconds.
  • Reduced the time required for an electrical plasma blast (maximum power) to reach maximum power from 1 second to 0.6 seconds.

hook

  • Slightly reduce the angle of spread between each two explosive arrows.
  • Reduced the triggering distance of Archer Focus passive ability from 60m to 40m.
  • Reduced maximum passive damage bonus from 80 to 70.

Hey

  • Reduced base health from 275 to 250.

charm

  • Increased Umbral Incursion damage in Darkchild form from 115 to 135.

Moon Knight

  • Increased the number of claws created by the Hand of Khonshu (maximum ability) from 10 to 14
  • Increased the blast radius of each claw from 4 meters to 5 metres.

Namur

  • Adjust the throwing feel of Monstro Spawn and Frozen Spawn. Now, Namor can throw them more accurately to the desired location.

Psylocke

  • Now Dance of the Butterfly (ultimate ability) will check barriers (including Magneto’s Metal Bulwark, Hulk’s Indestructible Guard, etc.).

The Punisher

  • Slightly reduce the spread of salvation.

Scarlet Witch

  • Increased chaos control damage from 50/s to 60/s.
  • Reduced damage per second from 5% to 3%.
  • Chthonian Burst projectile damage increased from 30 to 35.

storm

  • Increase Wind Blade projectile speed from 100 m/s to 150 m/s and Left Flick damage from 50 to 55.
  • Bolt Rush damage increased from 70 to 80.
  • After releasing Omega Hurricane (maximum ability), the extra health provided to her will be increased from 350 to 450. Furthermore, after this ability expires, the extra health will not disappear immediately but will instead diminish at a rate of 100 per second.

Squirrel girl

  • Added a new effect to the Unbeatable Squirrel Tsunami (ultimate ability): Squirrels will dash towards the nearest enemy after bouncing instead of bouncing randomly
  • Reduced Tsunami Squirrel’s health from 600 to 300.

Winter soldier

  • Increase the additional health provided by Bionic Hook and Tainted Voltage from 30 to 40.
  • Increased Rotterstern projectile damage from 70 to 75.
  • Reduced area damage from 70 to 65 and reduced damage degradation from 65% at 40 meters to 60%.
  • Increased base health from 250 to 275.

Wolverine

  • Increased base health from 300 to 350.
  • Reduced the damage reduction provided by Undying Animal from 50% to 40%.

Strategist adjustments

Cloak and dagger

  • Reduced the cooldown of Dagger Storm from 15 seconds to 12 seconds.
  • Increased the number of dashes in Eternal Bond (maximum ability) from 3 to 4.

Jeff land shark

  • Tune in It’s Jeff! (Maximum Power) Ranges from a 10 meter sphere to a 10 meter radius, and a 5 meter high cylindrical spell sphere.
  • Increased the healing rate of Joyful Splash from 140/s to 150/s.

Luna Snow

  • Increased the switching interval between healing and damage in Fate of Both Worlds from 0.1 seconds to 0.5 seconds.

Mantis

  • Reduced the nature’s favor movement boost (passive) from 2.5 m/s to 1.5 m/s.

Rocket Raccoon

  • Increased healing rate in Repair Mode from 60 per second to 70 per second.

Team ability adjustments

Hawkeye – Black Widow

  • Reduced Hawkeye Season Bonus from 20% to 15%.

Hela – Thor – Loki

  • Reduced the Hela Season reward from 20% to 15%.

Luna Snow – Namur

  • Increased Freezing Deployment damage from 25 to 27.
  • Increased the Freeze Deployment cooldown applied to enemies from 25% to 30%.
  • Increased Berserk’s Frozen Deployment damage from 16 to 18.

Rocket Raccoon – The Punisher – The Winter Soldier

  • Reduced Ammo Invention cooldown from 45 seconds to 40 seconds.

Scarlet Witch – Magneto

  • Metallic Fusion projectile damage increased from 55 to 60.
  • Increased the field damage of the Metallic Fusion spell from 30 to 35.

Thor – Storm – Captain America

  • Reduced Charged Gale’s cooldown from 20 seconds to 15 seconds.
  • Charged Gale damage increased from 50 to 55.
