Ice Sturgeon Fish Guide

The ice sturgeon is present in the North Expedition Cryogenic Channel as one of two legendary catches. Thanks to the small group of fish that roulette moves between, it is easy to encounter them, and it is also easy to catch them provided you have the right rod to advance in the middle of the game.

What makes ice sturgeon so special is its high selling price. On average, each one is worth $5,250 CAD, but that doesn’t take into account shifting variables! By using a rod that offers a chance of mutation such as the Voyager craftable rod that has a 25% chance of petrifying a fish, you can exploit the cryogenic conduit and money farm.

Of course, you can use any rod you prefer. But to keep on topic, I’ll use the Voyager Rod as an example again. Each fossilized fish is sold for 2.5 times its original value. This means that a single fossilized ice sturgeon can sell for a whopping $13,125 CAD.

The mutation with the highest value, Aurora, increases its value by x6.5. That’s a whopping $34,125 CAD per ice sturgeon!

If you’re ready to farm these fish, head to the cryogenic canal located in a hidden cave located at 19874, 557, and 5642. Further inland here, you can drop past rock structures lined with ladders into a small fishing area. Don’t forget to monitor your available oxygen because altitude depletes your supply faster!
