How to find, capture and use Dr. Brown in Palworld – Destructoid

Many new things have been added to it In the world With the Feybreak update, some are more elusive than others. Dr. Brown is a new NPC who can perform a Pal experiment at your request, but he’s not easy to track down.

As if In the world It wasn’t morally questionable enough, with forced labor from friends at your base and questionable relationships between them Tower bosses Their companion Dr. Brown is now participating. When you interact with Dr. Brown, you have the option of experimenting on your friends to change their passive skills, but doing so is very risky.

Dr. Brawn is a new type of NPC who can appear at “incident” scenes anywhere In the world. You’ll usually find NPCs or other massive nests in these locations, any of which could host Dr. Brown at any time. There are hundreds of these potential spawn locations spread across Palpagos, Sakurajima, and Feybreak, so I wouldn’t recommend cruising through them every day to find Dr. Brown.

A much easier way to almost “forced diffusion” for Dr. Brown is to choose a location and then circle the area. Every time you leave the area far enough away and then return, a new NPC or event will spawn, allowing you to walk around it roughly until Dr. Brown appears. It’s a good idea to have a fast flying mount like Jetragon (or someone else with passive skills that boost speed) to get in and out of the area quickly.

Although there are many, many such locations across the map, and you might get lucky and encounter him wherever you wander, I was very lucky to find Dr. Brown in the desert area northeast of Sakurajima Island and in another location. On the peninsula to the east. I’ve marked the location on the map below:

I’ve also had some luck finding it in two locations relatively close to home on the starter islands, with one located to the north and one to the south of the small settlement’s fast travel point, as shown below:

How to catch Dr. Brown in Palworld

Once you find Dr. Brown, you can talk to him and have him perform some experiments. However, once you do this and leave the area, it will be difficult for you to find him again next time. If you want easy access to Dr. Brown’s special skills, it’s a good idea to catch him.

To do this, you will need weapons, ammunition and better Bal domains You can craft. I recommend using Exotic Spheres if you have a supply of them, but Legendary Spheres will do the trick if you’re in a pinch and have a large number of them available. Reduce Dr. Brown’s health to the lowest possible level without killing him outright, then start throwing balls.

Even with oddballs, it’s difficult to catch a Dr. Brown, and you’ll likely lose more than a few balls in the process. However, persevere, and you’ll catch it soon enough.

Each in-game day, Dr. Brown can perform a Pal experiment that changes your friend Passive skills And your stats. If you want to make the most of Dr. Brawn, remember that you can change the length of the day and night in the game settings menu, allowing you to use his services more often.

Dr. Brown’s experiments can lead to several different results, both positive and negative:

  • Give your friend a positive passive skill while losing a passive skill
  • Give your friend a negative passive skill while losing a positive skill
  • Increase your special stats by 15 or 30
  • Reduce your stats by 15 or 30

Unfortunately, what you end up getting seems completely random, ranging from god-level menus to useless menus. This means that you must choose a specific friend that you can use repeatedly until you gain a preferred passive skill and then you can use it to generate that skill in its offspring. A good option for this is Yakumowhich can be used to breed almost any other type of Pal, allowing you to raise some incredibly powerful and useful companions.
