How to complete the Detective Only Challenge

To complete the challenge, you must complete three contracts, along with selecting the correct ghost type. All this should be done at 42 Edgefield Road. Any wrong guesses will result in you failing the challenge and you will have to do it again. So make sure you have as much evidence as possible before guessing.

Tips on how to complete the Detective Only Challenge

You’ll need to carefully analyze how the ghost behaves so you can identify the type and complete the challenge. This is very difficult since you will not have any official evidence with you, but you have to try several things and see how the ghost will react so that you can eliminate the wrong types.

Here are some of our tips.

Scan the room for ghost orbs

This is the best method you can use to know if you are dealing with a faker, because they will usually fill the room with fake ghost orbs. Also check if they will change their behavior frequently while in the room. Fortunately, it’s also one of the easiest ghosts to catch.

Throw salt on the ground

If you throw the salt at the beginning, you can be careful whether the ghosts will actually step on it. If the salt remains intact after a reasonable amount of time, you are likely dealing with a ghost. If all else fails, this is usually a very reliable method for identifying it.

Be careful not to turn off the lights

The clicker is a ghost that loves the dark, so if you want to get to know him, you can start turning on the TVs and all the lights you can find. If it turns off as soon as you turn it on, you are definitely dealing with a mare.

Drop in temperature

There is one ghost in particular that thrives in cold rooms, and that is the hanto. If the room is colder than others, it will not only move faster, but it will also turn off the breaker. If you can’t get it to work again, that’s a great indicator that Hanto exists.

Movement from the room

If the ghost, even after waiting a while, seems to not want to move from the room it is in, in addition to being unable to make any changes to it, then you are probably dealing with a goryū.

Light some candles

Watch the candles carefully and try to take a photo when you see them flickering. If it is marked as a “ghost photo” but there is no obvious subject on it, it is most likely a phantom. Also, after lighting at least three candles and highlighting the cross, if they all go out at the same time, you are probably dealing with Onryu.

Careful use of the Ouija board

Since every time you use the Ouija board, it will trigger a cursed event, so you may be better off saving the board for only those questions essential to your investigation. For example, ask how old the ghost is and then wait in the room for a while. Now ask again, and if the answer is different with age, you are dealing with thai. Another useful question is to ask where the ghost is, so you can identify the room immediately.

Pay attention to the speed of the ghost

Monitoring the speed of the ghost is a great way to get some extra hints to make sure you’ve selected the right type.

  • Since the speed of ghosts in Verbalophobia It will increase once you find out, and if they slow down instead, you may be dealing with Deogen.
  • Alternatively, once you’re spotted, the ghost will dramatically increase its speed, so you’re likely dealing with a Revenant.
  • Moroi changes its speed depending on your mind level, if you see the ghost faster where your mind average is between five and zero, this could be the person you are chasing.
  • Raiju will move faster when near electrical equipment such as televisions and computers.

Check for changes at your mind level

If your mind is draining very quickly, this can be a helpful hint to determine what type of ghost you are dealing with.

  • The sudden drain of sanity, coupled with the closing of the door, could be a sign of Yuri’s presence.
  • A low sanity ratio, which is depleted after being exposed to several singing events, could indicate the presence of the Banshee, as they use this ability to drain your sanity very quickly.
  • A whispering event picked up by the microphone, combined with a sudden drop in your mind level, is a sure sign of the Moroi curse.
  • If your decreased rationality is associated with throwing and smashing things, you are likely dealing with an evil spirit.
  • Slowly losing your mind while standing in the room could be a sign of a shadow hanging around you.
  • If you see a very rapid decline in sanity after a ghostly event, you are probably dealing with an oni because they can drain you twice as quickly as other creatures.
  • If you have a perfect mind and are being chased, it is 100% a demon because he is the only ghost that can do that. While they usually hunt at lower levels of rationality (80-70%), this is a surefire hint to tell them it’s a demon.
