Want to know how to capture both Megalodon fish Types? They all share one requirement, while others appear on certain days in real life or during events.
Catch an extinct shark at Fish On Roblox! Learn all about Aurora Borealis fish The event you need to know when trying to get the ancient megalodon.
When you catch any type of megalodon, a short scene plays!
Part of a rare and exotic group of ancient island fauna, the standard megalodon is based on the megalodon hunting process that took place. It works similarly to how other shark fishing works! But there are some differences to note.
This type of megalodon prefers shark head bait and appears only on older islands. You can get Shark Head Lure by opening high-quality Lure Chests, but since it is a Legendary Lure type, it is very rare to obtain. Fortunately, the type of weather, season, and time of day do not affect the shark spawning rate.
A rainbow exclamation mark appears above your head when you get an exotic catch, and the standard megalodon has a progression loss stat of 80%.
There seems to be some confusion about the ancient megalodon. Unlike the standard version, the Aurora Borealis event must be active. This can happen randomly on the server or the player can trigger this event using the Aurora Totem, which costs 500k coins in Brine Pools.
From the looks of it, this type of megalodon also requires the Megalodon Hunt event to occur. So, in general, you should wait for the research process to start before using Aurora Totem. I recommend this method, as trying your luck at getting the Aurora Borealis and Megalodon Hunt events happening at the same time is unheard of.
We have a guide on how to get Phantom megalodonSo I’ll quickly summarize it in this section, and you can visit our already existing guide on the topic to learn more!
Again, like the Legacy and Standard versions, the Megalodon Hunt event must be active. One major difference is the fact that the Phantom Edition is only available for a limited amount of time, though it’s not clear how long that will be.
The other major difference is that the Phantom Megalodon only appears on weekends… yes, real weekends. With how rare megalodon hunts are, and the fact that you can only get this shark on Saturdays and Sundays, this is definitely one of the toughest hunts in the game.
Generally, the Megalodon Hunt event lasts between 2 and 5 minutes, so you’ll need to be quick. The game alerts you with a sound effect and text across the screen, which then indicates that you need to head into the ocean to search for the shark. They’re quite large, so they’re easy to spot while sailing, and you can rest assured they’ll be somewhere around the ancient islands!
With the start of each new in-game day, there is a 5% chance to initiate a Megalodon Hunt. Even then, they last for a very short time so you need to pay attention to the game at all times. However, you can speed up the process by using sun totems to force a new day to begin.
