Honkai Impact 3rd is preparing to drop the v8.0 update, In search of the sun. It’s starting on January 9th and you’ll be able to see Durandal in her new avatar and some new suits. There are also special events being dropped as part of the update.
Here’s the breakdown
Honkai Impact 3rd v8.0 update, the new Durandal suit makes its debut. Also, Durandal has become smaller, making it more flexible. Called Reign Solaris, her new battle suit is a physical IMG-type DMG trader with two distinct forms.
In Rampager Mode, Durandal unleashes a flurry of spear attacks. Switch to Skyrider form and suddenly you’re flying around on a hoverboard, delivering extremely fast combos. Her final move is to launch herself into the sky, throw her spear and destroy her enemies with nuclear bombs.
The Honkai Impact 3rd v8.0 update brings some new equipment to the game. The Valorous Effulgence weapon and its updated PRI-ARM, New Voyage, are designed specifically for Reign Solaris. Equip them and you’ll unlock improved QTEs and additional spears.
There’s also a new Illuminating the Universe splatter set featuring Durandal’s parallel universe adventures. You’ll see soccer, bands, skating, and more!

The main story is getting a big update as well
Part Two, Chapter Seven: Bouquets of Unfulfilled Wishes, takes you back to Mars, where Dreamseeker and her team continue their deep dive into the War of the Ten Shus. They discover more about Coralie’s tragic fate and encounter someone connected to the mysterious eye in Helia’s mind.
There’s also a new cube game. Vita teams up with little Durandal to clean up dirty data and you’ll solve puzzles as Cube-ianka. Rewards here include 60 million crystals, source publications, and more.
Finally, the Countdown: To Sweet Dreams event adds a touch of comedy to the update. Familiar faces like Mei, Treasa, Fu Hua, and Herrscher of Sentience are back, and you might even see Griseo, Carole, and Vita.
This event includes a boss battle where you can help Kiana dodge falling drumsticks and get revenge by beating the drums. You’ll also lead your minions into battles and even become a monster trainer. Emblems, Crystals, and Source Prisms, along with Senadina’s stylish new outfit, the Guidance Equation, are up for grabs in this outfit.
