Hello travelers. the Genshin Impact The development team is excited to start with you another year of adventures in the world of Teyvat. Along with our heartfelt wishes for the New Year, we are happy to share that Version 5.3, The Glowing Poem of Resurrection, will arrive on January 1. Starting on the first day of 2025, it’s time to team up with Mafuika, Pyro Archon, and Setlali, in the final battles against the abyss looming over Natlan.
As the people of Natlan gather to turn the tide of their long war, the people of Lio reunite for the annual lantern ritual to ring in the new year. A new character, Lan Yan, and several old friends are waiting in Liyue to light up the night sky with Xiao Lanterns.
To add excitement to the annual celebration, there are rewards galore to claim, including Primogems x1,600 and the new Wings of Fate’s Course Intertwined glider via in-game mail, Intertwined Fate x10 via a daily login event, and a free 4-star character event. Liyue by completing the Lantern Rite event, and a new outfit for Xiangling by accumulating holiday fever in the event.
Burn a radiant path, burn mysterious spaces
After a short respite, the final battle was at hand. Blessed with the guidance and protection of the Poem of Resurrection, the warriors will stand against the monsters rising from the abyss in the latest Chapter 5 of the Archon Quest: Chapter 5 of the Glowing Poem of Resurrection. Together with Mafuika, Setlali and the other warriors, all efforts, including the power of the Ruler of Death, will be dedicated to driving out the darkness that threatens to engulf the land, no matter the cost. Additionally, the power of Pyro will finally be granted to the Traveler at a pivotal moment.
To enhance your combat abilities in the final battle, travel to the cave near the Masters of the Night-Wind. There, you’ll encounter the Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker, a powerful boss who can move quickly and summon multiple clones into battle.
Once you’ve proven your worth, another formidable weekly boss – Lord of the Corroding Primal Fire, the Abyssal Mimic Dragon awaits your challenge. In addition, the Pyro Traveler may gain unexpected advantages in this battle.
The radiant sun and the obsidian star
Two women who will star in the upcoming Legendary War may be recruited into your party as 5-star playable characters: Mavuika, a Pyro Archon and Claymore player, and Citlali, the most powerful shaman in her tribe and a Cryo Catalyst user. Both light the way of their people with centuries of wisdom, exploration, know-how, and martial prowess.
From a young girl from the Scions of the Canopy to a Pyro Archon who completely dazzles and protects Natlan like the sun, Mavuika’s journey has never been easy. However, she never hesitated. When you complete the last Archon quest, the Mavuika story quest will unlock.
In combat, Mavuika can crush her opponents with clay or charge into battle with the Flamestrider, a build unique to Teyvat. Her primary skill can fully summon firearms, which can take two forms. Click to cast “Divine Name Unleashed”, and the weapons will become Rings of Searing Radiance, tracking Mavuika or the active character and causing a continuous Pyro DMG compatible with Nightsoul. Instead, he continued to unleash Ancient Name Unbound, completely transforming her firearms into Flamestrider. When Mavuika mounts Flamestrider, she can cause a Pyro DMG to opponents in her path. At the same time, if nearby team members hit their opponents with their normal attacks or consumed Night Spirit Points, they could accumulate Martial Spirit. When her Martial Spirit exceeds a certain amount, she can use her Elemental Burst to enter the Nightsoul’s Blessing state, and mount her Flamestrider to perform a powerful AoE Pyro attack. Through her Elemental Burst, Mavuika will also enter the Crucible of Death and Life state, enhancing her abilities and making her more resistant to interruption.
The Flamestrider is not only a weapon, but also a versatile tool for exploration. Equipped with a hidden backup propulsion unit, it allows Mafuika to climb slopes, charge across rough terrain and water, and glide through the air. Additionally, having Mavuika in your party will reduce the cooldown of the party’s Nightsoul casting by 20%. Flamestrider blazes across the land, unfettered and proud, a testament to her inexhaustible spirit. The memory of a young lady’s confident words still lingers in the wind: “I can put these cornflakes in your kitchen from here.”
The sun shines brightly, but the stars never stop shining at night. As the most powerful shaman among the Night Wind Masters, Citlali can sense the changes in the Ley Lines and feel the wounds throughout Natlan from their long war with the Abyss. Due to the damage the Night Kingdom sustained in the war, she was helping lost souls who could no longer return to it. In her spare time, the esteemed Grandma Itztli might prefer to stay in her remote home alone, surrounded by light novels and snacks. She is also accompanied by her little companions Itzpapa and Citlalin, who not only add comfort as pillows and cushions, but also provide various forms of support in fighting and exploring.
In combat, Citlali can deploy shields and summon Itzpapa with her elemental skills. When her Nightsoul Points exceed a certain amount, Itzpapa will deal an AoE Cryo DMG to nearby opponents. Her elemental blast summons her little companions and creates a Spiritvessel. When the skull explodes, it will deal Cryo DMG damage corresponding to the Night Spirit and restore a fixed amount of Night Spirit Points to Citlali. Additionally, when Citlali is in the Night Spirit Blessed state, enemies hit by Freeze or Thaw reactions have their Pyro and Hydro RES reduced. She can maintain her Nightsoul’s Blessing status to boost the party when switching to other characters in battle.
Team up for another year of adventure
Elsewhere in Teyvat, Liyue is currently basking in warmth and harmony as its residents prepare for the arrival of lantern rituals and the new year. On the streets of Liyue, you may encounter a new character, Lan Yan, an Anemo Catalyst user, along with many familiar faces, some of whom will be debuting with all-new looks in the upcoming update.
The new 4-star character, Lan Yan, is the descendant and heiress of the famous Qimen Arts. She is an agile and intelligent craftsman, and has been praised as a master craftsman in the Qinyu Valley Artisan Association. In combat, Lan Yan uses the Swallow-Wisp Armor, a secret art that has been passed down in her family for generations. When it lunges forward and hits the target, it jumps back into the air. Furthermore, this dash attack changes the elemental type of her armor to Hydro, Pyro, Cryo, or Electro, allowing her to absorb corresponding elemental damage and deal corresponding elemental damage in return.
For Event Wishes version 5.3, Phase 1 will feature the debut of Mavuika and Citlali, while Phase 2 will bring the replay of Arlecchino and Clorinde, along with the debut of Lan Yan.
To recruit more Liyue characters, players can complete special festival requirements to invite one free 4-star Liyue character, including Lan Yan. In addition, some 5-star Liyue characters, including Ganyu and others, can be obtained through a new round of Chronicled Wish.

Meeting friends is exciting, and participating in fun events doubles the fun. In Lantern Rite, try the Custom Gift Envelope mini-game to design personalized envelopes based on your companions’ unique preferences. Additionally, don’t forget to create envelopes filled with wishes for friends, family or other travelers, and seal your thoughts and memories in these tokens of affection. Also try Immortal Combat, a Tetris-like game that lets you use Rattan characters to gain power-ups and defeat opponents. Or try Drills by Lamplight, where you can utilize tricks during battle to boost your score. Dive into these mini-games and collect more holiday fever to unlock a host of exciting rewards including Xiangling’s new outfit, New Year’s Cheer. Additionally, Hu Tao’s new outfit, Cherries Snow-Laden, will be on sale at a discount for a limited time.
The festive cheer is evident through the music as well. With Repertoire of Myriad Melodies, the rhythm game feature is now added as a permanent mode and you can start playing, composing and sharing your custom score at any time using a special instrument in your inventory. Do you want to fight some extremely difficult battles? In “On the Trail of Behemoths”, you can take on challenges of different difficulties and face four powerful bosses alone or with a friend.
