Oh cute! A game where you play as two climbing penguins linked to each other! Yes, well, it’s all fun and games until you realize that it’s actually quite a challenge. Bread and Fred is a fun game, but it is one of the most difficult games on this list.

You and your friend control the two penguins in question and help them navigate their way to the top of the snowy mountain by swinging, jumping and climbing walls in tons of puzzling platforming levels.

The Man with the Fist can’t be missed when it comes to a list like this! He’s been around since 1995, so we’d be surprised if you’re not familiar with this funky-looking little guy by now.

Not only does Rayman Legends Definitive Edition expand it into a new and vibrant world on Switch, it also offers some great co-op play for up to four players. This one is a little more subtle than some of the other entries, but I simply couldn’t leave it off this list. KeyWe is a “cute, messy co-op mail game,” where you play as Jeff and Deborah, two cheerful little kiwis recently hired by the Bungalow Basin Telepost Office to keep the mail flowing. But wait…they don’t have hands!

Work together as you tap, flip, jump, and slam your shoes across a largely interactive landscape, trying to maintain the well-equipped mail-processing machine that a Telepost office is supposed to be. What a treat.

Biped is a cool co-op action-adventure game where you play as two small bipedal robots named Aku and Sila. Although it has a single-player mode, Biped has a strong emphasis on cooperative teamwork between two players, as it encourages you to go on a fun, interconnected journey.

Explore a variety of beautiful and mysterious locations, discovering secrets, communicating to overcome puzzles and obstacles, and even buying yourself goofy little hats. There’s a lot to love about this epic quest!

You play as a bizarrely adorable puppy snake, with two barking heads attached to a long, rubbery body, with a co-op mode allowing you and a friend to control one side each.

Immerse your way through a variety of puzzles in a bright, colorful world filled with snacks, toys, and weird, squishy friends in this adorable and crazy adventure.

I can’t tell you how many hours I’ve spent playing A Hat In Time, both solo and with my friend. It’s a truly exhilarating platforming experience that captures the essence of the good old days, and makes for a great co-op adventure game. Travel through space as Hat Kid, a little girl wearing an oversized hat, as you search for clocks scattered across a new world to put your ship back into action.

The second player takes on the role of Bow Kid, an equally adorable companion who joins Hat Kid on her adventures. It’s fun, lively, colorful, and a game I often come back to when I need to cheer myself up. And honestly, the DLC is worth it – both Seal the Deal and Nyakuza Metro expand the game and introduce new, funky new areas to explore that are just as fun as the base game.

Trine is a magical experience centered around a group of unlikely heroes, each with their own unique skills and playstyles. Navigate through a gorgeous and mysterious 2.5D world, filled with physics-based puzzles, platforming, treacherous terrain, and heaps of enemies, while mastering the unique powers bestowed upon you.

Co-op play only enriches the experience, as you can use Amadeus the Wizard to create platforms for your friends to extend their reach, Pontius the Knight to break down barriers so your allies can pass, or Zoya the Thief to snipe enemies from a distance while your companions create distractions. It’s simple and easy to get into and is truly steeped in enchanting wonders that are sure to bring a sparkle to anyone’s eye.

Overcooked: All You Can Eat is a slightly different flavor of sweet co-op goodness on the Nintendo Switch. The mission is simple: work together to run an efficient kitchen and reach restaurant stardom. Although it sounds like a great job, the fun of Overcooked comes from the chaotic nature of coordinating with your friends to make sure every aspect of the kitchen flows smoothly. Overcooked will make you cry, laugh and scream your way to a good time.
