Triggering the Aurora Borealis event will decorate everyone at the server level with the “Experienced True Beauty” achievement. Players only receive this if they are present during Aurora’s start, and the achievement will not be activated if they join the server after it starts.

However, when the Aurora Totem takes effect, every player on the server, regardless of whether they joined late or not, will be able to enjoy its effects. When the Aurora Borealis event is active, it applies a global luck boost of x6.

In keeping with the theme of the event being the rarest in Phish, this totem costs a whopping $500,000 CAD to obtain and lurks in the depths of the Desolate Deep.

Find the Aurora Totem

First, you’ll need some diving gear to keep you safe while deep diving. Getting to Desolate Deep requires a lot of swimming and oxygen is limited around that area. To keep things cheap since you’ll need to save a lot for the totem itself, buy basic diving gear for $3k CAD from Moosewood.

To get to Desolate Deep, find the redfish near Sunstone Island and dive into the ocean. Swim into the cave and you’ll eventually emerge on the other side. When you are inside Desolate Deep, you will notice a sign that you must follow to the right until you reach the Desolate Pocket.

After a bit of risky swimming, there’s an NPC who points you in the right direction near a group of rocks. Climb up and look through the hole in the wall to find the Desolate Brine Pool where on the left is a room with Corpse Remains and an expensive Aurora Totem worth $500,000 CAD.
