Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is heading to PC in January, a year after its console launch.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth It launched on consoles in February, and if I had to guess, I’d say it’ll arrive on PC about a year later. Hey – guess what! Square Enix has given a PC release date for Rebirth: January 23, 2025.

The PC version will have improved lighting, improved textures and models, and support for DLSS and other graphics features. You can see it in action in the short trailer below.

Rebirth continues where Remake left off, showing Final Fantasy VIIPost-Midgar environments can be collected with all high-quality modern machines. But since it hasn’t come out on PC, we haven’t really done a proper review of it. Catherine enjoyed playing on the console. (fans only), though she had some issues with the open world design:

That’s not to say that Rebirth isn’t amazing or jaw-droppingly beautiful and terrifying like other open worlds. But I think Chadleigh’s way of sticking to the tick box rule steals some of the charm. Once you’ve completed all those tasks, there’s very little you’ll find in them, leaving them feeling a little empty and lacking in mystery. For many of Final Fantasy 15’s faults, I always felt curious every time I rounded another bend on one of the many grand highways, and the idling of my children in the back of the car gave me goosebumps. As a result, the world has a little more flavor and a little more personality. Your Reborn squad may be better chocobo riders than Noctis and his boy band, but they’re sure to be a surprisingly silent bunch when you’re out between mission objectives.
