Stardew ValleyNew Zealand festivals are spread throughout the year, and are usually a huge celebration and a point of excitement the first time you experience them. However, the longer you play the game, the less interested you become in it.
This is why most players see these festivals as opportunity points instead, usually to gain access to new items, a good reward to seek out on the day of the festival, or an easy way to find each NPC.

There are many farms to choose from in Stardew Valley. Here’s every type of farm ranked, including the newest Meadowlands farm!
Given this information, this classification of each festival is based solely on its usefulness and not on any personal connection. Even if you’re tired of the atmosphere, you’ll still want to go to the festival.
Although I think many of these bottom points have pure sentiment, I will only analyze them based on their value to improving your farm, skills, or money, and nothing else.
The Flower Dance comes very early in the Stardew game, and you can’t do anything other than buy a Rarecrow, which means nothing on a repeat visit, especially with no strawberries.
The only benefit you get from dancing is extra Friendship with your choice of partnerwhich is only useful if you are in your second year and have not already reached the maximum level for your preferred bachelor’s level.
It would be best to dance with whoever you want from the start, but you’re not allowed to dance with someone you have less than four hearts with, making it a very lose-lose situation.

The Dance of the Moonlight Jellies makes the beach inaccessible for an entire day, even though it only happens at 10 p.m., and gives you almost nothing for wasted time.
It’s pretty, sure, but realistically, you’ll only look at the beautiful sight the first time, and then just use it to make a quick 5,000g Seafoam pudding, with almost nothing else here.
It’s an easy way to find each villager, and the decorations sold in the shop are very nice, but that’s about it; It’s an incredibly one-note event and you only need to see it once to get the feels.
Now, for a festival with some actual rewards, the Ice Festival offers some delicious food items with the Wandering Merchant, and winning the competition is fairly worthwhile.

Power tools and weapons can be game changers in this farming saga.
It may take a while to catch everything, but you get two tackle pieces, a magnetic lure, a cool hat, or a prize ticket for repeated wins, all of which Very decent rewards for hunters.
It’s not great, and I can see it being worth pursuing if you want a prize pass, but other than that, I’d say the time invested is better spent elsewhere and makes this skippable.
Although Spirit’s Eve is mostly annoying due to the entire Pelican City being shut down for almost the entirety of the 27th of Autumn, the reward you get for doing the maze can be obtained very quickly and is great.
The Golden Pumpkin is a universally loved item, and you can get it completely free, making it a good alternative to Prismatic shard If you are trying to win someone’s hearts.
There’s not much here other than that, but since you can still access the mines and beach while the city is closed, it’s not too annoying, even if you only get a Prize Ticket in recurring years.

Unlike the Flower Dance, the Luau gives you a nice boost to your friendship with almost every NPC in the game, making it worth getting a good ingredient for a little grinding later on.
It’s not hard to get a great silver quality product or a good gold quality product your first year, then hold onto it and throw it in the soup later, plus the store here isn’t half bad.
It’s primarily an ornamental, but you can also get the Star Fruit, making it an easy way to get it in the middle of summer if you haven’t opened the desert yet.
The Trout Derby is one of those great festivals that doesn’t block an area, gives you a ton of fishing experience to participate in, and has some fairly good rewards if you do well.
Every Rainbow Trout you catch can give you a Gold Tag, which you can exchange for various premium items: Diamonds, Espresso, Omni Geodes, Farm Totems, or Mystery Chests.
It does require a significant investment of time to catch trout while the action is happening, but I’d say it’s worth it, especially if your fishing power is good enough.

SquidFest, which is not affiliated with Splatoon, is an incredibly similar event to Trout Derby, which will have you picking up a bunch of Squid To get the rewards, do not block any areas during this.
It only lasts for two days, and it’s worth getting the iridium or gold rewards on both days by catching 8-10 squid, which gives you mystery chests and free fishing experience in book form.
Again, it takes a long time, but the investment here is a little worth it, because it gives you a set number of rewards while only requiring a set amount of squid, rather than requiring you to give away an endless number of trout.
The Egg Festival would be where Spirit’s Eve is, if it weren’t for Pierre carrying the event on his shoulders, selling out Strawberry seeds during this event And hardly any other time.
This makes it the de facto way to earn a huge amount of Spring’s Best Harvest, and whenever I play the game, I make sure to save tons for this festival so I can blow it all on enough seeds for two years.
The egg hunting itself is fairly average. It gives you a stylish hat the first time, and a prize ticket the second time, so it’s somewhat worth doing, but the Strawberry Seeds pull this ticket forward.

The Feast of the Winter Star is the most RNG-heavy item in Stardew Valley, and whether you get something good out of it depends entirely on who’s giving you the gift.
One thing is guaranteed, and that is easy friendship points with the person you are giving the gift to. As long as you get them something they love, you’ll get 400 points guaranteed.
The items you can get for gifts range from an Iridium Plate to a 50 Stone, and Pierre’s rotating inventory can sell you a Triple Shot Espresso or a single Winter Root. It’s, at worst, okay, but potentially unbelievable.

You probably don’t see the Desert Festival your first year, because it only happens in the spring, but even in two years and up, it’s worth a visit, with a variety of goodies.

It’s a good source of Strawberry Seeds if you didn’t get enough from the Egg Festival, as well as Mystery Chests, Mega Bombs, Foraging EXP books, and a variety of really good food items.

The Night Market is one of the most extensive events in the game, giving you access to a wide range of decorations, lucrative underwater fishing, and a shop that sells most out-of-season seeds.
You get a free pearl once per save file for as long as you have a shred of music, and you get three days in a row to see the traveling cart, making it much easier to find anything you want from it.
It’s worth going at least one day a year, if only for the extra carts, free coffee, and a relaxing ride home right after you’ve finished hunting an excellent cucumber.
The Stardew Valley Fair is, by default, one of the best festivals due to it being one of seven Stardrops in the entire game, so it’s worth scooping up the awesome Grange display beforehand.
Furthermore, participating in all the fun mini-games or gambling can net you a Rarecrow, Ticket Prize, Mixed Seed, Triple Shot Espresso, or Glowstone Ring.
Although their value drops significantly after the first year, it’s always worth repeating every year for the easy bonus ticket and mixed seeds, just make sure you keep betting on green.
