The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) has published a review of the PS5 and Xbox Series Death 64which was previously released for PS4, PC, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in 2020.

This is a first-person shooter in which players assume the role of a lone space marine fighting demonic forces on Mars and in Hell. Players use machine guns, shotguns, rocket launchers, plasma rifles, and chainsaws to kill demonic creatures and mutant human soldiers in frenetic combat. Enemies release a large spray of blood when shot and crumble into bloody pieces of flesh when killed. Battles are accompanied by realistic gunfire, large explosions and screams of pain. Some levels depict mutilated body parts and severed heads on spikes and/or hanging chains.

DOOM 64 was developed by Midway Studios San Diego and released in 1997, although it originally served as a launch title for the Nintendo 64. The general gameplay is similar to previous DOOM games, and features 28 stages plus four bonus levels as well. All weapons from Doom II are complemented by new sprites and sound effects.
