Aaron Paul, who gave a heartbreaking performance as Todd in Bojack Knight, as well as Breaking Bad, is starring in AdHoc’s new strategy story game with former Telltale developers. Dispatch is a story-driven strategy game where you play a broken superhero trying to find a new mech suit by working at a heroic dispatch center. “Dispatch is a superhero workplace comedy where choices matter,” the caption reads. “Manage a team of misfit heroes and strategize who to send to emergencies around town, balancing all the office politics, personal relationships and your desire to be a hero.”
To do this, you make choices in an unfolding story, and manage a roster of heroes from the city’s tactical map, responding to emergencies by deploying those you deem fit for the job. Each hero has “flaws, flaws, and baggage that you have to navigate to keep the team together,” and you improve their skills and abilities.
This will be out sometime next year. Some jokes aside, I really like the look! Management games with a little personality are always fun, and the number of different systems playing against each other here seems interesting. I also like the bat man.
