PC gamers are still mourning the PSN requirements 8 months later


It’s been eight months since Sony made it PSN accounts are mandatory to PlayStation games on computerbut the players are not finished with the change yet. When Sony first introduced the PSN requirement, there was justifiable uproar because PSN wasn’t supported in a large number of countries, and linking PSN and Steam accounts from different regions was an inconvenience.

The company has since shut down unsupported regions of its games, meaning that PlayStation games on PC are now only available in countries where players can create a PSN account. However, we see headlines expressing astonishment as if all the Steam review bombing should have worked by now.

The majority of the complaints we’re seeing now are from people who are able to create PSN accounts, so we’re not entirely sure what the issue is at this point other than the fact that a large number of PC gamers aren’t allowed to purchase PlayStation games anymore.
